Introduction

We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App may collect, why it is used, how it may be shared, and what rights you may have. This Policy applies to the iOS and Android versions of Salah – Learn How to Pray.

App usage and analytics data

We may use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App, improve features, fix usability issues, and monitor general app performance. This may include app usage events, screen interactions, feature usage, language settings, app version, device type, and general technical metadata.

Crash and diagnostic data

We may use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information when the App crashes or experiences technical problems. This may include device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and related technical information.

Anonymous authentication data

We may use Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous identifier where needed for app-related functionality, such as supporter status, support requests, entitlement-related state, or other app features that do not require a personal account.

Device and app metadata

We may process technical information such as app version, device model, operating system version, language or locale settings, and similar diagnostic metadata.

Location and city data

The App may use your location, if you allow it, to help determine your city for prayer times. You may also choose a city manually instead of using device location. Selected city, country, and prayer schedule data may be stored locally on your device so the App can show prayer times. We do not use location data for advertising.

Purchase and entitlement data

If you buy Premium, we may process non-sensitive purchase or entitlement status information to unlock, restore, verify, or remove Premium access. For iOS, this may include App Store transaction, receipt, entitlement, or refund status information. For Android, this may include Google Play purchase status, purchase token, ownership, refund, or entitlement-related information. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Support information

If you contact us for support, send feedback, or submit a problem report, we may process the information you provide, such as your message, email address if provided, screenshots if provided, and technical diagnostic details needed to investigate the issue.

Payments

Purchases in the iOS version are handled by Apple through the App Store using Apple In-App Purchase and StoreKit. Purchases in the Android version are handled by Google Play through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your full payment information. Apple or Google may provide non-sensitive purchase or entitlement status information so the App can unlock, restore, verify, or remove Premium access.

How we use data

We use data to: provide core functionality of the App; show prayer times and related city-based information; process, verify, restore, or remove Premium access; monitor performance and fix bugs; understand feature usage and improve the App; handle support requests and diagnose technical issues; prevent abuse and maintain security; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Legal bases under GDPR

For users in the EU/EEA, including Sweden, we may process data based on: contract, where processing is needed to provide the App and Premium features; legitimate interests, such as app improvement, crash diagnostics, security, analytics, support, and abuse prevention; consent, where required by law, such as for certain analytics, permissions, or location access; and legal obligations, where applicable.

Data sharing and service providers

We may use third-party service providers and platform services to operate the App. These may include: Google Firebase services, such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Authentication, Firestore, Remote Config, and Storage; Apple App Store services for iOS in-app purchases, purchase verification, refunds, and entitlement handling; Google Play services for Android purchases, purchase verification, refunds, and entitlement handling; and external APIs or services used to provide city data or prayer time data, where applicable. These providers may process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Your data may be processed on servers outside your country. Where required, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent provider safeguards may apply.

Retention

We retain data only for as long as reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the App, or as required by applicable law and service provider retention settings. Locally stored city and prayer schedule data may remain on your device until you change it, clear app data, or uninstall the App. Analytics and crash data may be retained according to Firebase retention settings. Support messages may be retained as long as needed to handle support and maintain records. Purchase entitlement information may be retained as needed to provide and restore Premium access.

Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to: request access to your data; request correction or deletion of your data; request restriction of processing; object to certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Children

The App is intended for general audiences and educational use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent where required by law. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date above.
